Duke University and Greeley Elementary
Duke Alumni helped organize book drives for Greeley that helped build the library from 250 to 6,600 books over several years.
On Saturday mornings, Duke alumni helped students re-organize the books according to a new system developed by the librarian. (Learn strategies for helping to

2007-2008 Activities
- Duke alumni served as Principals for a Day at Greeley on 30 October 2007.
- Greeley invited a Duke member as a guest speaker for the students.
- Duke alumni donated school supplies to the school.
Previous Activities:
- In February 2007, 7th and 8th grade students at Greeley Elementary heard a speech from LeAlan Jones, co-author of Our America: Life and Death on the Southside of Chicago.
- Special assembly and basketball workshop with Duke alum Jay Williams
- Secret Santa holiday gift drive
- Book and school supply drive
- Three alumni served as Principals for a Day in 2002 and 2003
