Academic Support

Here are suggestions on how to support your partner school in academics:

  • Provide guest speakers for a Career Fair, for all classes, for a particular unit or for the AVID program. (learn more about AVID and which schools have it )

  • Tutor students one Saturday per month and help them prepare for standardized tests.

  • Tutor students once a week before school starts (7:30-8:30am for most schools).

  • Help build partner school's library by donating books and organizing others' donations.

  • Organize a mini-course as part of Student Development Days once a month (on media, non-profits, etc.).

  • Provide internship opportunities for students during the summer.

  • Help students prepare for history and science fairs or help judge the fairs
